A new housing initiative is set to be announced on Friday in the HDC’s large conference room at its South Quay offices. It is called the Aided Self-Help Housing Programme.
#NewSauce got in touch with Minister Randall Mitchell who said the initiative, coming out of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, is targetting middle to low income families and is aimed at helping them to construct and manage their own homes with technical support from the state.
Mitchell said in the first cycle of the programme approximately 1000 houses will be reserved for sale. He also said further details will be provided at the press conference now carded for Friday.
Communications representatives from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development have said FB Live coverage of the event will be available.
